Introduction
Introduction to the Independent Language Centre
What will I be doing?
You will be studying the language of your choice, either by yourself or in a small group of students studying the same language. Each week will have a theme and an introductory activity where all the students will work together. You will then break out to complete a project in your language of study.
How will I be assessed?
You will map yourself against the European Languages Framework at the beginning of the course and identify a level to move up to. By the end of the course you are expected to have met the targets you set yourself according to the European Languages Framework
How will I keep my work?
You will have a blog for the Independent Languages Centre on which you will save the work you do each week. Do share this blog with family, friends and anyone who speaks your language to show them what you are doing.
What will I gain from this course?
Not only will you improve the language you are studying you will increase your awareness of global issues and learn something about the other languages students are learning in the Independent Language Centre.
